On November 20, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal had announced that he would be stepping down from his position as chief of staff. After putting up the job post, many criticisms were raised, but Deepinder Goyal revealed that more than 10,000 applications have been received for this post.
Goyal's post was very different from the job criteria and job specifications of the people who were to fill his chief staff job vacancy. Also, this position at Zomato's headquarters in Gurgaon had no salary for the first year and had demanded a fee of Rs 20 lakh from candidates. This led to protests on social media.
Sharing the details of the applicants who approached him, Goyal said that the application process ended at 6 pm today (Thursday).
Sharing this role, Arjun V Paul, a Malayali and co-founder of SOCO, supported Somato's decision and shared Goyal's post with a note that he is willing to give money to those who sincerely want it and do not want it because of lack of money. He said that if the chosen people do not have money, they should only send a message. This post has already received a lot of attention.
