Amazon has launched a new quick commerce service called Tez. The new service is expected to begin in late 2024 or early next year.
Amazon's announcement comes after the news that Zepto, the leader in the quick commerce sector, has received more than $1.3 billion in funding over the next six months.
Quick commerce is a highly competitive industry. The current market players are Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and New Flash (Tata Digital's service). With the arrival of Amazon, the competition is getting fiercer.
Reports suggest that "Taze" will start with products such as fruits, vegetables and daily necessities.
The delivery time is currently 10 minutes. Flipkart's Flipkart Minutes service was launched earlier this year by increasing the range of major cities.
