Hiring, a Chennai-based AI recruitment startup, has developed the first AI interviewer that automates online interviews. The AI interviewer acts as a recruiter by asking questions, recording, evaluating and assigning scores based on the performance of the candidates.
The AI model, called 'Hiring AI Screener', works on the same model as HR recruiters participate in online interviews. This AI can recommend the best four or five candidates to get through to the next round of recruitment. They can also detect if employees are cheating.
Adithyan RK, Founder and CEO, Hiring, explained, "The existing software doesn't interview a candidate or assess their performance in a live video interview, it screens our AI. "
During the Covid-19 pandemic
The idea of developing a human-like AI screener came to Aditya when several companies were facing recruitment issues.
While tech start-ups like Sapia and Babblebot have built AI software for video interviews, what makes hiring different is AI's ability to evaluate a candidate rather than just recording an interview.
"Our next target is to enter the manufacturing sector with an aim to sell AI screener to 150 customers in India and the US. "Adityanath said.
Hiring plans to develop a fully automated product, including sourcing, screening, interviewing and onboarding.
