Delhi and Bangalore are two of the best cities to start a business in India. But is it the best one out there?

In an interview, Shantanu Deshpande, CEO of Bombay Shaving Company, said that Delhi is 1000 percent better place than Bengaluru to start a start-up. The CEO of a start-up in Gurgaon also commented that Delhi is a better place than Bengaluru for business.

In addition, Zomato's CEO Deepinder Goyal, at several award events, has made it clear that it is not possible for a start-up to succeed without a base in Bengaluru.

Metrolife asked start-ups located in India's Silicon Valley for their opinion on the matter. Savitha Reddy, founder of Language Station, says Bengaluru is the best place. "They say that investors have easy access and incubation centres are readily available, which helps start-ups grow.

Vaishnav C, the founder of MyDearpa, also believes that Bengaluru is the best place to start a startup. "Bengaluru's ecosystem provides opportunities for networking and customer engagement," he says. He said people in Bengaluru are more capable of experimenting with new services and products than people in other cities.

Prashant DG, co-founder of Brood Games, says, "The Karnataka government is coming up with pro-startup policies. In addition, the city's ecosystem is close to venture capitalists and platform partnerships with large corporations such as Google and Apple.

Ramesh first wanted to start his company in Pune or Goa. But after listening to the positive feedback of his college seniors about Bengaluru city as a "great ecosystem for start-ups," he said he started the startup in Bengaluru and the situation is conducive for growth.
