As part of the India AI Mission, the government has invited bids for the second phase in areas such as watermarking, labelling, ethical AI and risk assessment. The last date to apply for bids is January 9.
The India AI Mission aims to create an AI ecosystem that offers supercomputing consisting of more than 10,000 GPUs. The bids are part of the Rs 10,372 crore India AI Mission launched by the IT Ministry in July last year.
The objective of the mission is to develop AI applications for critical sectors and address key challenges faced by institutions run by the central and state governments.
An amount of Rs 1,971 crore has been earmarked for setting up a new India AI Innovation Centre. Out of the Rs 10,371 crore allocated for India AI Mission, about Rs 200 crore has been earmarked for India AI Dataset Platform. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada said Rs 689 crore has been earmarked for the IndiaAI application development initiative.
