The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has received 796 complaints against Credit Information Bureau (India) Limited (CIBIL) between April 1, 2022 and March 31, 2023 through the offices of the RBI Integrated Ombudsman. According to the RBI report, these are the highest complaints against credit bureaus.
The number of complaints received under the Reserve Bank – Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-IOS) increased by 68.24 per cent to 703,544 in 2022-23, according to the RBI's annual report. Most of the complaints were related to loans, advances and credit cards.
