Indian edtech startup Physics Wallah (PW) announced on Friday that it has closed a Series B funding round, raising $210 million, raising the company's valuation to $2.8 billion. This marks a 2.5-fold increase from its previous value of $1.1 billion. The round was led by Hornbill Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners with continued support from existing investors GSV and Westbridge.

With a student base spanning nearly 98% of India, PW has rapidly grown to become one of the most trusted names in education. Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO, Physics Wallah expressed his thanks. Prateek Maheshwari, co-founder of PW, highlighted the company's vision, "This funding will help us expand, improve our technology capabilities and continue to deliver exceptional learning experiences. FY25 is PW's largest EBIDTA profit year. ."

PW plans to use the funds for consolidation in the education market, with a focus on organic growth and entry into the K-12 formal education sector. The company aims to expand its content, explore mergers and strengthen its position as a holistic partner in education and career advancement.
