K. Madhavan has resigned from his roles as the Country Manager and President of Disney Star after 15 years of service. Madhavan played a pivotal role in overseeing the Disney+ Hotstar brand and was instrumental in the company’s growth.

He assumed this role in 2019, following Uday Shankar’s departure. Madhavan originally joined Star India as Head of the South in 2009. Prior to that, from 2000 to 2008, he served as the Managing Director and CEO of Asianet, where he led the channel to capture 50% of the Malayalam market share. His vision significantly contributed to the development of quality programming in South India.

Under his leadership, Disney Star produced over 20,000 hours of programming annually across more than 70 TV channels in nine languages, with Disney+ Hotstar reaching approximately 700 million viewers every month.

As of now, Disney Star has declined to comment on the news.
