Reports are coming out that lakhs of users have been ported to the public sector telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited due to unexpected tariff hikes by private telecom companies. Also, the government's promise to roll out 4G services and soon 5G is putting this PSU in the limelight.
But Reliance is of the view that the rate hike has had a negative impact. Jio is trying to win back users through new plans and rollback of rate hikes. Meanwhile, BSNL is making a move to use the opportunity. Both companies are trying to woo users with new plans.
New plan of BSNL
BSNL offers unlimited voice calls and data with great validity. The validity of the company's revised Rs 997 plan is 160 days. A total of 320 GB of data is available. users get 2GB high speed data and 100 free SMS per day.
Users can enjoy unlimited free voice calls to any network in the country. The plan also offers many value added services like free roaming across India, Zing Music and BSNL Tunes. The company has already started 5G network testing.
Reliance Jio New Plan
Jio has introduced a Rs 249 plan in the budget segment. Validity is 28 days. You will get 1 GB data per day. Unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day are among others. Although Jio's main rival Airtel also has a similar value plan, the validity is 24 days. That means you will get 24 GB data more in Jio.
