Topline was founded in 2021 by Rishan Kapoor, Ruchin Kulkarni and Rohit Khanna. The goal of the topline was to help product-led growth (PLG) businesses in the process of turning free users into paid buyers.

However, Topline was having difficulty finding the expected product-market fit, despite having a base of companies including major players such as Canva, Grafana, and BrowserStack.
