Gautam Adani's Adani Group is in talks to buy Dubai-based real estate company Emaar India for around $1.4-1.5 billion (approximately Rs 11,600-12,400 crore). The move is part of Adani Group's efforts to expand into the real estate sector.
Emaar Properties had invested Rs 8,500 crore in the Indian real estate market in 2005 in partnership with M. G. F Development. Later, in 2016, this partnership was terminated and it became a separate company called Emaar India. Emaar India owns several residential and commercial properties in cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Mohali, Lucknow, Indore and Jaipur.
Adani Group is active in the real estate market in India through its subsidiaries Adani Realty and Adani Properties. They have already completed several projects in major cities.
Adani Group is also involved in large projects such as the development of Dharavi slum in Mumbai and the Rs 36,000 crore development of Motilal Nagar
