Adani Group is in talks with leading tech companies such as Meta, Google and Flipkart to set up data centers in India. The company is scouting suitable locations across the country for this. Last month, Adani Group announced a massive investment of $100 billion to build artificial intelligence (AI)-based data centers that will run on renewable energy by 2035.
Although discussions on the new projects are at an early stage, Adani had announced a massive $15 billion data center campus in Visakhapatnam with Google last year. This is expected to be Google's largest data center outside the US. The latest economic survey shows that the data center market in India, which is growing rapidly with the advent of AI, will reach $11.6 billion by 2032.
Apart from the Adani Group, other large companies are also investing heavily in this sector. OpenAI is planning to set up a data center in India in partnership with TCS. Reliance is also planning to invest over $11 billion to build AI data centers in Jamnagar and Visakhapatnam, and Amazon is planning to invest $12.7 billion in India to develop cloud infrastructure by 2030.
