Amazon to invest $35 billion in India by 2030

E-commerce giant Amazon has announced plans to invest more than $35 billion (about Rs 2.9 lakh crore) in India by 2030. The investment, which will be made over the next five years, will be spread across the company's e-commerce, cloud computing, logistics and digital services sectors. This will take Amazon's total investment in India, which has invested $40 billion in India since 2010, to $75 billion.

This new capital will be used for Amazon Web Services (AWS), fulfillment infrastructure, last-mile delivery, data centers and AI-based projects. The company hopes to support 1.5 crore small businesses with AI tools and create 1 million jobs by 2030. The investment will also support the company's export program, which helps Indian sellers sell globally.

Amazon considers India to be its most important international market. Amazon's announcement comes after investments of $17.5 billion from Microsoft and $15 billion from Google. This is seen as a continuation of the massive investment inflow into the Indian technology and digital sector.
