There are reports of discrepancies in the figures of electric scooters sold by Ola Electric. It is alleged that there is a discrepancy between the sales figures provided by the company and the vehicle registration figures in government documents.
After this came to the notice of the government, the Ministry of Heavy Industries has asked the company for more information.
According to reports, the company claimed to have sold 25,000 vehicles in February. However, as per the Vahan portal, only 8,600 vehicles have been registered. That is, there is a huge difference between the sales figures stated by the company and the registration figures in the government records.
As part of the investigation, RTO officials in Maharashtra conducted searches at Ola showrooms across the state. The vehicles were checked to see if they had the required documents and if they were being sold with a valid trade certificate.
According to reports, 36 scooters of Ola have been seized in Mumbai and Pune after violations were found.
