Google Chrome has added a new feature that removes notification permissions from websites that haven't been used in a while. This helps reduce annoying alerts and make browsing smoother.
The feature is available on Android and desktop, but it doesn't affect installed web apps. Chrome will notify users when a site's notifications are turned off, and they can easily turn them back on through Settings or the Security Checkup.
Google says the update improves user privacy and control. Tests showed fewer unwanted notifications and more clicks for sites that send fewer alerts.
