A Sensor Tower report shows that Groww led global investment app downloads in 2025, beating out key competitors like Angel One, Robinhood, and Trade Republic.

The report highlights how low-cost brokerage models, simple design, easy onboarding, and increasing financial literacy are driving user adoption. While the US, China, Japan, and South Korea have their own dominant apps, Groww is leading the way in the Indian market, where investment apps still see lower female participation than in developed countries.

Groww's rise is driven by steady download growth since 2019 and strong retail investor activity in 2023–24. Its transparent fee structure and educational features have helped it attract novice investors.
