OpenAI and Meta Platforms are reportedly in talks with Reliance Industries to expand their artificial intelligence services in India.

Discussions are also underway to run models of Meta and OpenAI at the world's largest data centre that Reliance plans to build in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

There have also been discussions on the distribution of ChatGPT through a tie-up between Reliance Jio and OpenAI. According to reports, OpenAI is planning to bring down the price of the ChatGPT subscription from $20 to a few dollars.

Reliance has also held discussions on selling OpenAI's models to their customers through an application programming interface (API). Reliance is planning to keep the data of local users in India and to host and run OpenAI models locally.

Meta declined to comment on the report.

Reliance Industries is one of India's largest companies engaged in petrochemicals, refining, telecommunications, retail and green energy.
