CloudSEK, a cybersecurity firm led by Malayali Rahul Sasi, has raised Rs 160 crore through Series A2 and B1 funding rounds, the startup said in a statement.
The latest round saw participation from India and US-based investors such as MassMutual Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, Prana Ventures, Tenacity Ventures, and select strategic investors including Comvault. It also includes the Meeran family (founders of Eastern Group), startup Exseed, Neon Fund, and Xfinity Ventures.
The company is expected to announce a Series B2 round soon as an extension of the existing B1. The company plans to bring in new investors and facilitate a partial exit for some of its early backers.
Founded in 2015 by cybersecurity researcher and entrepreneur Rahul Sasi, CloudSEK began with the goal of building a secure digital future by predicting and mitigating cyber threats.
What started as a research-based venture has since evolved into one of the most trusted intelligence platforms in the industry — serving 250+ enterprises across banking, healthcare, technology, and the public sector, the startup said in a statement.
The Bengaluru-based company raised around Rs 75 crore in 2023 and 2021, according to data from market intelligence platform Trax.
The newly raised capital will support CloudSEK’s continued product innovation and global expansion, and will focus on developing its AI models and platform integrations. Unlike traditional tools that respond after an incident, CloudSEK identifies initial attack vectors (IAVs) – helping to detect early signs of a potential breach, such as leaked credentials, exposed APIs, or compromised vendors.
"We built CloudSEK with the goal of predicting the early stages of attackers, stopping threats before they make headlines, and stopping them before they escalate," says Rahul Sashi, Co-Founder and CEO of CloudSEK.
CloudSEK serves over 250 clients across sectors including banking, healthcare, technology, and public sector. The venture, which was launched in 2015, now operates in India, Singapore, the US, and the UAE. Rahul, a cybersecurity expert hails from Mavelikkara, Kerala. He was an advisor to the Digital Lending Committee, which was formed by the Reserve Bank of India to prevent fraud in online lending apps.
