NVIDIA and Amsterdam-based cloud company Nebius have announced a new partnership to drive a major shift in artificial intelligence (AI). As part of this, NVIDIA will invest $2 billion in Nebius. The main goal of this massive agreement is to build massive AI data centers by 2030, providing the computing facilities needed for next-generation AI faster and more cost-effectively.
The partnership combines Nebius’s specialized cloud system, built exclusively for AI operations, with NVIDIA’s advanced hardware technology. The two will work together on all levels of technology, including hardware, data center design, and software. The partnership will be of great help in meeting the growing AI needs around the world, especially in running complex ‘agentic AI’ models.
Nebius, formerly part of Yandex's operations outside of Russia, is now a fast-growing company in the AI infrastructure market. The investment is part of Nvidia's new strategy of partnering with cloud companies that widely use its chips (GPUs). Nvidia announced a similar deal with Thinking Machines Lab this week.
