Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian is in a bid to buy TikTok's US operations. The organization behind this move is called "Project Liberty". If TikTok is bought, their goal is to move it to blockchain technology.

The main goal of this acquisition attempt is to implement a blockchain system called "Frequency" in TikTok. If this system comes, the 170 million American users who use TikTok will be able to fully control their information and the videos they make. That is, they will have ownership of their data.

TikTok is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. According to US government law, ByteDance will have to sell the American part of TikTok by April. This was due to an order issued when Trump was president. That is why many people are now coming forward to buy TikTok.

Big companies like Microsoft and Oracle are also interested in buying TikTok.

But it is not yet certain whether ByteDance has decided to sell TikTok. Similarly, it is not known exactly how much TikTok is worth or what parts are being sold. Transferring TikTok to the blockchain is technically very difficult.
