Reliance to invest Rs 10 lakh crore in AI

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced a huge investment of Rs 10 lakh crore in India's Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector over the next seven years. Just as Jio has reduced internet data rates, the main objective of this project is to make AI technology available to the common man of the country at a very low cost. He stated that Jio, which led the country to the Internet era, will now lead India to the 'Intelligence Era'.

This large-scale project is being implemented in three main phases. As the first step, Reliance has started the construction of state-of-the-art AI data centers in Jamnagar, Gujarat. To fully operate these data centers, 10 gigawatts of green energy, including solar energy from Kutch and Andhra Pradesh, will be used. In addition, a nationwide edge-compute system will be developed by connecting directly to Jio's telecom network to provide AI services quickly and without delays.

Once this project is completed, small businesses in rural areas, schools, farmers, and hospitals will be able to use AI services quickly and without interruption. Reliance also aims to reduce its dependence on foreign countries for AI computing capacity. The company is trying to replicate the revolution that Jio has created in the telecom sector in AI technology and make India a leading AI power in the world.
