Software company Soho has won the indigenous web browser development competition organized by the Union Ministry of Electronics. The competition was part of the Centre's 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' scheme to develop indigenous web browsers, achieve digital self-reliance and promote new ideas.
The competition was led by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in Bengaluru. Various technical experts and companies from the country participated in this competition.
The web browsers developed by the participants in the competition were for various operating systems such as iOS, Windows and Android. They were designed to be more user-friendly for the customers.
Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the names of the winners. Zoho Company won the first place in the competition. Team Ping came in second place and Team Ajna came in third place. Zoho received a prize of Rs 1 crore, while the second and third place winners received Rs 75 lakh and Rs 50 lakh each, respectively.
In the context of the growth of artificial intelligence, the government is also trying to build AI models indigenously through the "IndiaAI Mission". This mission has already received more than 180 applications.
