Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has announced the launch of a new initiative called Startup India Desk, a dedicated helpline to support entrepreneurs across India. The announcement was made during his address at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, one of the largest gatherings of the start-up ecosystem in the country.
The four-digit toll-free helpline will be set up under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and will be accessible in multiple regional languages to ensure wider reach and inclusion, an official statement said.
Goyal said the helpline aims to help start-ups address regulatory challenges, report misconduct and suggest policy improvements. The Minister urged the entrepreneurs to use the helpline responsibly and assured that immediate attention will be paid to genuine grievances. The move is seen as a significant step towards promoting transparency, easing compliance and fostering a more start-up friendly regulatory system in India.
