Government raises loan guarantee limit for startups to ₹20 crore
The government has approved the revised Credit Guarantee Scheme (CGSS) for startups. The maximum guarantee coverage per borrower is now Rs 20 crore, up from Rs 10 crore earlier. The scheme helps startups get loans without providing collateral. Loans will be available to banks, NBFCs and other approved financial institutions. This new version replaces the previous scheme that was in place from October 6, 2022. It will be effective from May 8, 2025.
