IXI, a startup based in Espoo, Finland, has raised €32.2 million in Series A funding to develop and begin commercial sales of their innovative autofocus glasses. The funding round was led by Plural, and received additional support from investors including Tessie, Founders, Hartcore, Euratio, FOV Ventures, and Tiny Supercomputer.
Founded in 2021, IXI aims to revolutionize the €175 billion eyewear market with glasses that feature dynamic lenses that automatically adjust to the wearer’s eyes. This new technology provides better vision and works more naturally with the way our eyes work.
IXI’s founders, Niko Eden and Ville Miettinen, were previously co-founders of mixed reality hardware company Varjo. Their expertise in optics and eye-tracking has led them to create glasses that can solve problems that many people face.
IXI’s new glasses will use real-time eye tracking and low-power technology to improve vision, offering a better alternative to traditional glasses that often cause problems such as narrow fields of view and difficulty seeing at different distances. IXI believes their product will address the growing need for better solutions for vision problems. IXI’s first product is currently in development, with more details to come before the official launch.
