The goal is to bring the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to schools, colleges, and research institutes. India is one of the largest ChatGPT users in the world, with millions of students already using ChatGPT for research and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this program, OpenAI will provide 5 lakh ChatGPT licenses to students and teachers. The program includes training on how people can use AI responsibly, and partnerships with leading institutions to understand how AI can improve teaching and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who will benefit?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Learning Accelerator will support several areas of India\u2019s education system:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Government schools (Classes 1\u201312): <\/strong>Teachers will also get access to ChatGPT in lesson planning and teaching, along with the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Technical institutions: <\/strong>Through AICTE, students and teachers in engineering and technical colleges will use AI for projects and skill development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ARISE Network Schools: <\/strong>Private schools under ARISE will use AI to create more personalized and adaptive learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IIT Madras researchers:<\/strong> With $500,000 funding from OpenAI, IIT Madras will study how AI impacts learning and cognitive growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students and teachers across India: 5 lakh licenses will reach cities and villages, supported by training for effective classroom use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research in collaboration with IIT Madras<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A key part of this initiative is OpenAI\u2019s partnership with IIT Madras. The institute will study how AI can be combined with cognitive science to help students better understand and think critically.
