Software company Zoho has won an indigenous web browser development competition held by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The contest was part of the Centre's' Aatmanirbhar Bharat 'initiative to build an indigenous web browser, achieve digital self-reliance and promote new ideas.
The competition was led by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bengaluru. Various technical experts and companies of the country participated in the competition.
The web browsers developed by the participants were running on various operating systems such as iOS, Windows and Android. It is designed to be more convenient for customers.
Minister of Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the names of the awardees. Soho Company took first place in the competition. Team Ping came in second and Team Ajna third. The second and third prize winners will get Rs 75 lakh and Rs 50 lakh respectively.
In the context of the growth of artificial intelligence, the government is also trying to build AI models indigenously through the "India AI Mission." The Mission has received more than 180 applications so far
