A small, egg-like shell. When opened, it reveals a delicious mix of chocolate and milk, with tiny toys hidden inside. There's no better strategy to attract children. This strategy became known as Kinder Joy and turned into a favorite treat for kids worldwide.
In a small factory in a rural area of Pune, experimental tiny toys were created and distributed to students. Once they received approval, they were mass-produced.
These toys were then sent to Baramati, a rural area about 100 kilometers from Pune, where Ferrero India, the chocolate maker, packed them as a surprise gift inside their chocolate product, Kinder Joy.
The joy of anticipation, unique packaging, the distinctive name, and innovative distribution strategies all worked effectively to make Kinder Joy a massive success.
Ferrero India, which also sells Nutella spread, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and Tic Tac breath mints in India, set records with its marketing of Kinder Joy. It was later proven that these efforts helped the Italian chocolate maker Ferrero surpass Swiss giant Nestle's chocolate division in terms of growth.
A Ferrero India representative stated, "Innovation and customer-oriented performance led to the creation of many excellent products." Ferrero India's operations started nearly seven years ago.
