What is Credit Score?

- Step 1: Go to the CIBIL website
- Step 2: Fill in the given form which requires the necessary information like name, contact number, email address etc.
- Step 3: Fill in additional details about yourself including your PAN number.
- Step 4: Answer all the questions about your loans and credit cards correctly
- These are the four main steps to follow to check your CIBIL score. However, the following are a continuation of the main steps listed above.
- Step 5: You will be suggested various paid subscriptions (if you need more than one report in a year). If you only need a one-time free credit score and report, select ‘No thanks’ at the bottom of the page. This is the stage where your account will be created and a confirmation message will be displayed on the subsequent page.
- Step 6: Using your login and password created in Step 2, you can log in to your account.
- Step 7: Once you log in, all your personal information will be auto-filled by default (if the fields are not auto-filled, please provide the correct information). Please enter your contact number and click Submit.
- Step 8: Once you submit the form, you will be able to see the dashboard that includes your CIBIL score. Also, you will get your credit report on the dashboard.
Will checking your CIBIL score multiple times reduce your credit score?
Checking your CIBIL score regularly will not reduce your credit points. You should check your credit score before seeking new credit as it will help increase your credit score over time. You can ensure that you have the optimal score for credit approval and avoid rejection of your application.
