Suki, a United States of America-based startup founded by Punit Soni, has developed its own artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant to simplify healthcare for doctors and other healthcare professionals. Simply put, Suki is like Siri for doctors. Just as you can order a pizza or schedule an appointment with Siri, doctors can modify, edit, and add to their patients' health records on Suki. Suki is a powerful tool to help doctors with the documentation of health records that often take hours of their (doctors') time.
Suki currently focuses on documentation, but plans to expand its use to data queries, ordering, prescribing and billing. According to Suki Publications, its technology increases the time a doctor spends with a patient by 12%, as well as reduces note-taking time by 76%. The time saved also gives physicians an additional financial benefit of $30,000 in revenue per year on average.
Suki has raised a $20 million Series B round from Flair Capital Partners, First Round Capital and Venrock, doubling its total funding since launching in 2017 to $40 million. Suki is also planning to expand its operations in India and has decided to establish Bangalore as its operational hub. Given the amount of manual labor that goes into almost every sector, Suki has a lot of potential for India.
