There has been a record increase in mutual fund investments from Kerala. According to data from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi), the total investment value (AUM) stood at Rs 84,743,26 crore, the highest ever reported.
Nationally, mutual fund investments fell sharply in September. Rs 71,114 crore has been withdrawn from mutual fund schemes in India. It is in this context that investments from Kerala have increased. Last month, Malayalees invested Rs 2,930,64 crore.
The investment of Malayalees has increased in all categories except Liquid / Debt. Investments are increasing every month. Post-Covid, there has been a surge in investment.
Malayalees are more interested in share-based funds. Gold investment and Fund of Funds investment in foreign funds have also registered an increase over the previous years.
