KisanKonnect, a D2C brand, has secured an investment of $4.5 million through a Series A funding round led by Mistry Ventures. The round also saw participation from Times Group's Brand Capital, Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, VC-Grid and Vishwang Desai.
Prior to this, the Ahmednagar-based company had secured $3.7 million in pre-Series A funding led by Green Frontier Capital.
The funding will be used to improve the infrastructure of the technology-based organization, expand operations, expand to major cities, and improve the efficiency of farm sourcing and supply chain using AI technology.
Launched in 2020 by Vivek Nirmal and Nidhi Nirmal, KisanKonnect is a farmer producer company. Through the Unified Farming System, indigenous products of more than 500 farms are delivered directly to the customers, eliminating middlemen.
KisanKonnect, the company has already built a network of more than 5,000 farmers, which started with a 48-hour delivery model in the initial years, is now delivering within 4-6 hours. Based in Mumbai and Pune, they have also launched a pilot program for a 30-minute delivery service.
