MakeMyTrip records record profit; bookings at $10.4 billion

Despite the crisis, leading online travel company MakeMyTrip has achieved a good financial result in the last year (FY26). The company's total bookings increased by 10.4 percent to a record $10.4 billion. For the first time in its history, the company's annual revenue crossed the $1 billion mark and rose to $1.04 billion. This enabled the company to achieve significant growth in flight and bus ticket bookings and hotel packages.

Despite the good growth in revenue, the company's annual profit fell sharply. The profit for the last financial year fell by 45.8 percent to $1.7 million. The main reason for the decline in profit was the doubling of financial expenses. The company's profit in the last quarter of the financial year also declined by 16.8 percent to $24.3 million.

MakeMyTrip's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant 'Myra' (Myra) has been a huge hit with customers, with the company's group CIO Rajesh Mago saying that the AI system automatically answered 55 percent of queries after booking a ticket. In the last quarter, Myra handled over 54,000 interactions per day. More than 45 percent of these were from small cities (Tier-2).
