American AI finance platform Numero AI has acquired Chennai-based finance automation startup Royu. While the exact amount of the deal between the companies has not been disclosed, Royu co-founder Vishwajith says it is a big deal (in the double-digit millions). The main goal of this partnership is to automate the finances of corporate companies with the help of AI.

As part of this acquisition, Vishwajith Vishwa, co-founders of Royu, founded in 2025, will join Numero as Chief Product Officer and Sathya Gunasekaran as Chief Technology Officer. Royu focuses on simplifying many manual tasks such as bookkeeping and invoice processing using AI agents. Numero’s software expertise and Royu’s engineering expertise will come together to develop new systems.

The future plan of this joint company is to make the operations of the finance departments completely AI-based. Through this, they will be able to help corporate companies manage their finances more accurately, reliably and quickly. The company also aims to expand its AI platform to broader areas such as accounting, reporting and financial planning.
