Flipkart to offer zero commission on all fashion products

Leading e-commerce giant Flipkart has introduced a zero commission policy on all fashion products on its platform, regardless of price. The benefit, which was previously available only for products below Rs 1,000, will now be available to all fashion products, enabling around 90,000 small traders, local brands and D2C labels to sell their products without paying commission.

The company says that this move will help merchants maintain higher profitability and expand their business and product range. In addition, Flipkart is also providing merchants with tools, including AI-powered trend analytics, to quickly understand the changing preferences of consumers. This will help increase the availability of premium products on the platform and provide better choices to consumers.

Flipkart has taken this decision to face stiff competition from rivals like Meesho and Amazon in the Indian e-commerce market. Meesho was the first to introduce a zero commission model in 2021; Amazon recently announced similar discounts for products under Rs 1,000. All the companies are competing to strengthen their businesses with the expectation that the Indian e-commerce market will grow to $ 450 billion by 2032.
