Apple is preparing to launch Apple Pay in India next month. The digital payment service will be introduced in partnership with Axis Bank. Initially, only Axis Bank credit cards will be supported on the platform.

While discussions are underway with major banks like HDFC and ICICI, agreements with them are facing delays due to a lack of clarity regarding financial terms. The company aims to gradually integrate other banks into the system, mirroring its approach in international markets.

This service will enable Apple users to make contactless payments using their iPhones or Apple Watches. A key feature is the ability to securely complete transactions using Face ID or Touch ID. However, it remains to be seen what kind of impact it will have on the Indian market, which is currently dominated by UPI.
