Apple launched the new iPhone 17 series at an event in Cupertino on September 9. The lineup includes the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 starts at Rs 82,900 in India and the iPhone 17 Pro Max costs up to Rs 1.5 lakh. It will go on sale in India on September 19. Apple also launched new Apple Watch and AirPods models.
The new iPhones are powered by Apple's A19 chipsets. The iPhone 17 has a 6.3-inch screen and a 48MP "dual fusion camera". The new iPhone Air is Apple's thinnest phone yet, with a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display and is powered by the A19 Pro, N1, and C1X chips. It has a 48MP main camera and an 18MP front camera.
For the first time, all iPhone 17 models, including the Pro versions, will be assembled in India. Apple is expanding its presence in India, with record sales of $9 billion in fiscal 2025 and new flagship stores in Bengaluru and Pune. Despite US tariffs and pressure to manufacture in the United States, Apple continues to expand manufacturing in India.
