The story of Bengaluru-based startup founder and CEO of ReferRush, Vikram Pai, is a story of a young man who found success through failures and perseverance. Despite five failed businesses, a financial loss of Rs 2 crore, and health issues, he never gave up on his business ambition. Today, his business has been given a new lease of life through a WTFund grant led by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath.
Vikram Pai shared the story of his six-year struggle through a post on LinkedIn. Despite facing business failures, financial crises, and losing the trust of family and friends, he stuck to his business dream. This young man is an example for young people who give up when they face a small setback.
Vikram Pai says in his post:
"6 years, 5 failed businesses, 2 crores gained and lost. They called me Elon Musk and half of my body was paralyzed. I had only Rs 4,000 left in my hand. Even my co-founders could not give me money."
"Everyone told me to quit the business. Even my grandmother questioned me. Called me crazy. My father said, 'You see business as a game'. My aunts gossiped about my career. My mother lost faith in me. My best friend cheated on me. I cried.
"I always believed. I always had food and a home. That was all I needed."
"Today, ReferRush has become one of the 9 companies selected from over 2,400 companies."
Despite these difficulties, Vikram Pai's business took off. ReferRush, an e-commerce referral sales platform, was one of the 9 businesses selected from over 2,400 applicants. After receiving the WTFund grant, the startup has seen massive growth.
He said that self-belief and patience played the biggest role in his journey.
ReferRush is an e-commerce platform that provides merchants with a fully automated, omni-channel customer referral program. This helps them easily scale their referral marketing efforts and drive organic growth through customer referrals.
