The legal dispute initiated by Byju's at the Bengaluru NCLT regarding the rights issue of Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) has been settled. Byju's had filed a complaint against the company, concerned that the rights issue would dilute its shareholding from 26% to below 5%.
Amidst these disputes and crises facing Byju's, various financial transactions and discussions are underway concerning Aakash, the company's most valuable asset. These include founder Byju Raveendran's willingness to part with his shares to settle an arbitration claim by Qatar Holding, and ongoing talks by global lenders to acquire a 30% stake in Aakash.
Despite these challenges, Aakash is delivering a strong financial performance. In the 2026 fiscal year, the company's net loss narrowed by 15.5% to ₹186.5 crore, while operating revenue rose slightly to ₹2,040.5 crore.
