Amazon is expanding its quick commerce service 'Amazon Now' to 100 cities in India to deliver everyday items to customers within minutes. For this, the company aims to set up over a thousand micro-fulfillment centers (MFC) across India. Currently available only in Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru, the service will soon be expanded to other major cities like Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kolkata.
This expansion is part of Amazon's investment of Rs 2,800 crore announced last week. The company, which currently has around 300 micro-fulfillment centers, plans to double its presence in these cities by the end of 2026. With this new move, the company expects to be able to deliver their products directly to consumers through Amazon's technology.
Amazon Now, which launched in June 2025, will become a stronger player in the Indian quick commerce market with the new expansion. Amazon mainly competes with rivals like Blinkit, Septo, Swiggy Instamart, Reliance JioMart, and Flipkart Minutes, which is rapidly growing to 250 cities. All the companies are increasing their investments in the hope that the Indian quick commerce market will become a big business worth $ 40 billion by 2030.
